We’re committed to improving both product performance AND environmental performance through materials and manufacturing innovations.
SYNDICATE WORKS: NO PLASTIC LAYERS!
In 2021 we began replacing the petroleum-based resin used in traditional water ski production with our 35% Natural Glycerin Resin, a by-product of biodiesel production. Now we've gone one step further by removing the traditional plastic top & base materials of our Syndicate Works skis, reducing this ski's plastic footprint to virtually zero!
100% Recycled PVC Lounge Floats
One of the most responsible ways of manufacturing is to reuse the materials left over from making a product to create a new product. HO has done just that by introducing a full line of Lounge Floats made from 100% Recycled PVC. By reusing the discarded PVC material that would otherwise be sent to a landfill to create new products, HO’s raw material needs are radically reduced. Here's how we do it.
CLEAN POWER
To reduce our carbon footprint, HO Slalom Skis are produced in a clean energy facility, using 80% renewable sources such as solar.
Apparel from recycled water bottles
Made of 100% recycled fiber from REPREVE® that turns recycled plastic water bottles into responsibly sourced clothing. Up to 17 recycled water bottles make up our Sun Hoodies, 16 bottles per Sun crew shirt, and 6 recycled bottles per T-shirt.
BIO RESIN
Many of our skis now contain 35% natural glycerin resin, a by-product of biodiesel production. This makes them quicker rebounding creating a lighter feel underfoot. These new materials enhance ski performance and reduce environmental impact of ski manufacture! The result is a more dynamic and responsive flex, making it easier to get wider with less effort.
LONGER LASTING TUBES, LESS WASTE
HO’s goal is to make high-quality products that lasts for years, so you don’t have to buy more of them. In 2019, HO introduced our XT collection of eXtra Tough towable tubes, built with thick gauge eXtra strong materials and a 3-year warranty. In addition, al out inflatable dropstitch products are equipped with a PVC repair kit, allowing customers to extend the lifecycle of HO products. This means a longer product life and less waste.
