45 Years in the Making. Still Becoming.
The Syndicate wasn’t a product line. It started out as a group of skiers. People who believed a ski could be better. Who could feel something in a turn that they couldn’t quite explain—and then spend months trying to build it. Forty-five years later, that’s still what brings us to work.
A thousandth of an inch. A different bevel package. One more mold cut and prototype. One more set before the light goes. Small things. Until you’re on the water. Then they’re everything.
Our story belongs to a lot of people. Herb O’Brien. Bob LaPoint. Kris LaPoint. Wade Cox. Will Asher. Chris Rossi. Jon Travers. Jaimee Bull. Allie Nicholson. Rob Hazelwood. Marcus Brown. Dave Wingerter. Terry Winter. Chris Parrish. Matteo Luzzeri and too many others to name. Different generations. Different styles. Different ideas about what a ski should do. But the same willingness to help figure it out.
Some brought a vision. Some brought an extraordinary ability to feel what needed to change. Some knew how to turn that feeling into something we could build. The progress happened between them: on the dock, behind the boat, across a workbench. It also belongs to the people whose names don’t appear on podiums. The hands that build the skis. The people who drive the early sets, take the notes, check the measurements, and stay to finish one more thing.
More than 150 ski designs. More 10 World championships. Multiple Tour titles. Moments that became part of skiing’s history. And a lot of ideas that never made it past the drawing board. We needed those, too. Because winning tells you something worked. It doesn’t tell you there’s nothing left to learn.
That’s how we arrived here. The 2027 Syndicate Works 01.
You’ve seen the red ski. First in a world that asked you to question what was possible. Then at Nationals, in the teasers, and beneath skiers who were already putting it to the real test. Red pill, anyone? We liked the question because skiing has always offered a little of that choice. You can stay with what you know. Or you can follow a curiosity or feeling and find out where it takes you. For us, that meant questioning our own work, yet again.
The third-generation Works 01 carries the shape and attacking character that made skiers believe in the original. To move it forward, we also went back. We returned the concave to a shallower profile, closer to the first Works 01. We reduced the bevel size throughout the ski to refine the balance of hold and speed. We reworked the rocker between the feet to add stability underfoot. The intention was simple: give a skier more confidence to commit. Keep the speed. Keep the response. Keep the feeling that gives you the confidence to turn in and go.
These refinements had to earn their place on the water. Will Asher’s multiple 2026 podiums. Jon Travers’ 2025 Open Men’s National Championship. His 2026 Florida State record, running 41 off. All on this exact shape.
We’re proud of that. But we’re just as interested in what happens when you take your first set. When the ski does what you hoped it would. When a movement feels a little more natural. When you come back to the dock trying to describe a turn you want to feel again. That’s the part we get to share.
Every Works 01 is handcrafted at our Works Factory in the Pacific Northwest. Precision-machined PVC foam core. Premium carbon. Our elite Works Construction, with no fillers, no plastic and no shortcuts. Built by the same hands that build every ski in the Syndicate line.
There is a lot in that last sentence. Forty-five years of knowledge lives in those hands. In habits passed from one person to another. In knowing when something is right—and caring enough to start again when it isn’t. We don’t take the chance to keep building here for granted.
This red ski carries everything we knew how to put into it. We wanted it to be worthy of the people who brought us this far. And to leave something for the people who come next.
Now, the skis are built. The 2027 Works 01 is available. This might be the best ski we’ve ever made, and we’d like you to try it.
There are still conversations happening across the workbench. Still ideas waiting for their first set. Still someone coming off the water with a thought that could change everything. The lights are on at the Works Factory. We’re not done yet.
So here’s to the next 45 years—and to everyone who will help us discover what comes next.
Syndicate Works. By skiers. For skiers.
